Algebra I
Students enrolled in Algebra I are taking the honors level math course for eighth grade.  Not only does the course cover the standards designated for South Carolina's eighth graders, we also cover the state's Algebra I standards.  Students are responsible for an End of Course examination that will be administered in May and counts 20% of students' final grade.

Success in this course is crucial as students are receiving high school credit.  This means that students' performance in this class will be reflected in their GPA and begins to check off the list of high school graduation requirements.  I am aware of the importance of grades as they relate to GPA, so I want to be sure students and parents are clear on the correlation between a student's average and GPA.  The table below shows the conversion scale as created by the South Carolina Department of Education.
